  • Portrait or landscape

Choose portrait, landscape or as is, and add a margin if you want one.

  • Shape stays the same

Content is made bigger or smaller by the same amount in both directions, then centered.

  • See old and new size

The result screen shows the old and the new size.

  • Stays on your device

Good to know

  • Every page is scaled to fit the new size and centered. If the new page has a different shape, the extra room is white space.
  • The content is not stretched or squashed. It keeps its shape.
  • Links, form fields and notes move and scale with the page.

Common questions

How do I resize a PDF?

Add the file, choose the new page size, choose portrait, landscape or as is, and press Resize PDF. Every page is scaled to fit the new size and centered, and the resized file downloads from the result screen.

How do I change PDF page size from A4 to Letter?

Add the A4 file, choose Letter and press Resize PDF. Letter is a little wider and shorter than A4, so the content is scaled to fit the height and you see a thin strip of white at the sides.

Does resizing stretch or squash the content?

No. The content keeps its shape. It is made bigger or smaller by the same amount in both directions until it fits, then centered. If the new page has a different shape, the extra room is white space.

Do links and form fields still work after I resize a PDF?

Yes. Links, form fields and notes are moved and scaled with the page, so they stay on the words and boxes they belong to. Jump targets that point to an exact spot on a page, such as some bookmarks, still open the right page but may land slightly off.

Is resizing the same as cropping?

No. Resizing scales everything onto a new page size. Cropping keeps the scale and shows only part of the page. Use Crop PDF to trim edges, then Resize PDF to set the paper size.

Is my file uploaded when I use Resize PDF?

No. Your pages are resized in your browser. The file is not sent to our servers.

Is Resize PDF free, and are there limits?

You can use it free. You get 2 free uses in total, no account needed. Free files can be up to 50 MB. Pro has no limit on uses and allows files up to 500 MB. We check the limits before a use starts, so a finished file is never held back.

Can I use Resize PDF on a Windows PC?

Yes. Open this page in Chrome or Edge on your PC, add your file and download the result. Nothing to install, and your file stays on your device.
