What is the difference between splitting by ranges and by every page?
Every page gives you one PDF per page. Ranges give you one PDF for each range you type, such as 1-3 and 5-8. Both come as a zip file.
How do I write page ranges?
Type page numbers and ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. The tool tells you if a number is outside the document.
Will the split pages look the same as the originals?
Yes. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays sharp and searchable. Bookmarks and internal links may not carry over to the new files.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, using the password you already have, then split the unlocked copy.
Is my file uploaded when I use Split PDF?
No. Your document is read and divided in your browser. The file is not sent to our servers.
Is Split PDF free, and are there limits?
You can use it free. Without an account you get 2 tasks a day, and a free account (just an email address) raises that to 10. Free files can be up to 50 MB. Pro removes the daily limit and allows files up to 500 MB. We check the limits before a task starts, so a finished file is never held back.
