# Which PDF tool has no ads?

> PDFinish shows no ads: no third-party advertising, no ad cookies and no data sold. You get 2 free uses in total, no account needed, and the only thing we suggest is our own Pro plan, when your free uses are used up. Some other tools say on their own pages that they show ads; the table below shows who says what, and when we read it.

## What each product's own pages say about ads

| Product | What its own page says |
| --- | --- |
| iLovePDF | Lists an "Ad-free experience" as a Premium feature, and the Premium FAQ says Premium "removes ads". The free Basic list does not list it. |
| PDF24 | Says its online tools are free and "financed by means of discreet advertising on the websites". |
| PDFescape | Lists "An Ad Free Interface" as a feature of its paid plans. |
| PDF Candy | Lists "No ads" in its free plan. We do not claim to be the only tool with no ads. |
| Adobe Acrobat Reader | Shows in-product marketing messages from Adobe about features, updates and online services on its Welcome Screen and while you view a document. Adobe says you can turn them off under Preferences > General > Messages From Adobe. These are Adobe's own messages, not third-party ads. |

Only products whose own pages say something about ads or marketing messages are listed. Smallpdf and Sejda say nothing on the pages we read, and Soda PDF's site asks automated readers to stay out, so they are left out rather than guessed at.

## Common questions

### Does PDFinish show ads?

No. PDFinish shows no third-party ads and sets no ad cookies, free or paid. The only thing we suggest is our own Pro plan, when your free uses are used up.

### What does "no ads" mean at PDFinish?

No ad scripts load on our pages and no ad cookies are set. We don't sell your data. Most tools run in your browser, so your files stay on your device.

### How does PDFinish pay for itself without ads?

Through Pro. You get 2 free uses in total, no account needed. Pro is $2.99 a month or $24 a year, and Lifetime is $50 for the first 500 founders. When you reach the free-use limit we tell you about Pro, and that is the only thing we suggest.

### Is PDFinish really free?

Free to start: 2 free uses in total, no account needed. Then 7 days of Pro free, or buy Pro for $2.99 a month.

### Does Adobe Acrobat Reader show ads?

Adobe's help page describes in-product marketing messages from Adobe about features, updates and online services, on the Welcome Screen and while you view a document. They are Adobe's own messages, and Adobe says you can turn them off in Preferences. Our guide shows where.

### Do other free PDF tools show ads?

Some say so on their own pages: PDF24 says its tools are financed by advertising, and iLovePDF and PDFescape list ad-free as a paid feature. PDF Candy lists no ads on its free plan. The table above shows what each page says and when we read it.
